Why you need it :
Skin lotions are one area we are spoiled for choice. And maybe that is the reason that the entire space is a little soiled. There are enough and more products floating around and even more claims. Which is why it is essential to know what you are applying on to your skin and more importantly, what you need to. To begin with, most do not distinguish between moisturisers and hydrators. Moisturisers do not usually come with hydrators which are humectants that absorb moisture from the atmosphere and hold it onto your skin (we use glycerine and aloe vera gel as humectants).
This ensures that your skin stays hydrated (deeper) and longer than just a moisturiser. This is how we can promise you hydration on the go, in all seasons. Body Lotion has a combination of Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol and Xylitol that hydrates deep and helps circulate the moisture throughout all skin layers, limiting water loss. This anti-dehydration shield reinforces the synthesis of essential lipids and proteins. And natural wax derived from olive oil, keeps hydration locked into the skin. Created from vegetable oils, the lamellar structure of this lotion makes it quick absorbing and therapeutic to skin and senses. It rehydrates skin, revives rough and dry spots, smoothens calluses and softens rough skin. And most important, it is not sticky and does not make your skin feel oily. Here is a little self-indulgent test. Apply Green And Beige Body Lotion on one hand and any other lotion that you have on the other.
Rub both in. Now see which one leaves a visible layer on top of your skin. The science is simple – vegetable butters do not clog your pores but penetrate it; petroleum jelly cannot be absorbed by skin and stays as a layer, preventing skin from breathing.
Application: Apply onto towel-dried skin immediately after a shower. Use as often as required.
How it works:
What you need for everyday use is a light, hydrating lotion that can take care of your skin without making you feel oily and sticky. And of course, not looking like you have a layer of oil on you. We use aloe vera gel as a humectant which penetrates under your skin, absorbs moisture from the air and holds it on your skin. This means Body Lotion is ideal for dry, Indian conditions all year long. To add to it, we have beet and rosemary extract for long-term hydration and antioxidant properties. Fermented corn sugar also provides enhanced skin hydration. But Body Lotion does not stop at just hydration. Wheatgerm, a potent antioxidant that is rich in Vitamin E fights skin damage and promotes new skin formation. We also have almond oil that replenishes your skin’s squalene levels and prevents premature aging . A healthy dose of Phytosterol delays age-related collagen loss. Safflower oil, light and high in linoleic acid helps maintain integrity of all skin types. Jojoba, closest in property to your body’s natural sebum, protects from external toxins. Helichrysum imparts a pleasing fragrance and also heals skin of inflammation. Myrrh’s earthy smell soothes your senses, while its other properties calm the skin. Vanilla essential oil helps slow down signs of ageing like finelines, wrinkles and age spots. Body Lotion looks after your skin on an everyday basis while it also brings long-term benefits. Help your skin look and feel soft and supple.
In Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, poor Mr. Bumble who is married to a domineering Mrs. Corney, is told in court that, “the law supposes that your wife acts under your direction”.
A fustered Mr. Bumble squeezes his hat and mumbles, “If the law supposes that, the law is a ass – a idiot. If that's the eye of the law, the law is a bachelor; and the worst I wish the law is, that his eye may be opened by experience — by experience.”
We wouldn’t go that far. But we must say that the law demands that we write the ingredients in Latin. Since we know Latin is not your mother-tongue or your second language, we provide the ingredients in English within brackets.
